What are Core Web Vitals?
Core Web Vitals are Google's metrics for user experience: LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) measures loading performance, FID (First Input Delay) measures interactivity, and CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift) measures visual stability. They're a ranking factor for Google Search.
What's a good performance score?
A score of 90-100 is considered good (green), 50-89 needs improvement (orange), and below 50 is poor (red). Focus on fixing the biggest opportunities first for the most impact.
Why does page speed matter for AI?
AI crawlers have time limits when fetching content. Slow pages may not be fully indexed, reducing your chances of being cited in AI-generated answers. Fast sites provide better user experience and are more likely to be recommended.
What is LCP (Largest Contentful Paint)?
LCP measures how long it takes for the largest content element (usually an image or text block) to become visible. Good LCP is under 2.5 seconds. Improve it by optimizing images, using CDNs, and reducing server response time.
What is CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift)?
CLS measures unexpected layout shifts during page load. Good CLS is under 0.1. Improve it by setting explicit dimensions for images and videos, avoiding inserting content above existing content, and using CSS transforms for animations.
Is this tool free?
Yes, this page speed checker is completely free. It uses Google's PageSpeed Insights API to analyze your website's performance and Core Web Vitals.
